A graphic encoded in the graphics interchange format (GIF), known as an animated GIF, is a collection of images or frames in a single file that has its own graphic control extension. To create the illusion of animation, the frames are displayed in a particular order. An animated GIF might continue to loop indefinitely or end after a few frames.
